Ebay Feedback Suprises

As I’m sure most of you know Ebay is instituting many new changes over the next few weeks. As usual Ebay sellers are upset

over the fees increases. However they were most suprised by the new feedback system Ebay is implementing.
Many of the Ebay sellers are in an uproar as Ebay announced a shocking change to the feedback system.

Sellers will no longer be able to leave buyers negative or neutral feedback.

I’ve seen seller’s panic saying “I’m going to loose my whole Ebay business. I can only work form home and I won’t be able to

feed my kids and blah blah blah”.

A) She either runs a very crude Ebay business with junky products and customer service

or

B) She’s living in a fear state over something she has no control over. And she will absolutely attract bad seed customers if

she focuses on that.

As long as she is describing her items accurately, shipping quickly not overcharging on shipping. She should be fine.

Amazon did a similar thing a few years back. They changed the feedback system so sellers could no longer leave feedback.

We were all unhappy about the situation. Many buyers were disappointed as well. They liked other people to know they were

good customers. At that time Amazon also changed the way rating were viewed as Ebay plans to do.
Instead of showing the lifetime feedback they changed it to only show the last 12 months.

It is unfortunate as there are some bad apples in the bunch that will complain about nothing.

Now is the time to up the anty and make sure you are at the top of your Ebay game. Here are some quick tips.

1) Make sure you accurately describe your items. Take several photos of your items to give customers a full view of the item.

2) Make sure to answer any questions that come thru from potential customers or customers who already ordered. Many sellers are doing very poorly in this area as I will discuss in another article.

3) Make sure you email your customers to let them know their item has shipped.

4) Make sure you ship promptly and or note your shipping days in your auctions.

5) Don’t gauge your customers on shipping. It’s one thing to charge a handling fee. It’s another to charge an obscene handling fee.

My advice to you if you sell on Ebay. Keep positive and avoid the forums that emphasize the negative aspects of Ebay. There will always be changes at Ebay. It’s up to you how to handle it. Don’t get caught up in the negative attitudes other sellers have. And remember to be building your own websites outside Ebay. There will come a time when you want to leave Ebay behind. Use them as a stepping stone and traffic generator.
