Ebay Politics & More Radical Changes!
The Ebay Games oops I means changes continue. I have to admit some of these changes have really been annoying. It’s like they are trying to get rid of sellers. They are certainly making it less fun to sell on Ebay. Did the government secretly buy them out? It sure is starting to feel like it with all the new rules, regulations and junk.
Ebay makes another move to get more cash as they are gearing up to eliminate checks and money orders. I find this to be a great disservice to the buyers. Many people still prefer to send checks or money orders. Not to mention the new users Ebay claims to toot their horn for. Ebay are you forgetting many of these newbies are new to the internet altogether? They got sweaty palms just buying something online. They are not all brave enough to give their bank account or credit card info online. So your hopes and dreams of forcing them to open a Paypal account are not going to work. Watch your sales decline in the forth quarter. Smart move before
Christmas Ebay. Not!
In other news Auctionbytes mentioned Ebay was planning to do away with listing fees. Another unwise move. Sure it sounds great to move to free. It would be an unwise revenue move. Not that I don’t doubt they will just shift it to the backend and closing fees. All Ebay needs is to clog up the website with junk listings and bad sellers. We all know what happened to Yahoo Auctions with their free and low cost listing fees over the years.
Ebay seems to be shooting itself in the foot. It’s certainly been a beneficial site for many people. Love them or hate them. But guys and gals if you are solely making your income from Ebay I urge you to start moving some of those eggs to another basket. Ebay has made many radical moves in 2008. The next year could proof crucial for them with all the changes. Don’t get caught with your pants down.
